Toes on the beach
Leaves me speechless
Lost in time
Clouds on the climb
Sky is reachless
Mind in the sand
Gives me bedrock
Found on the wave
Pain in the grave
Peace and joy in wedlock
Heart on the ocean
Takes my sorrow
Seeks a new story
Mining the treasure of tomorrow
2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline.
Find what it is, or where it is, that you should be and live with fervor for God Almighty. There’s no time to do less than that.
If God is the wave
And we are the ocean
Let Him move us along
With faithful devotion
Water is deep and still until
It is acted upon by wind
It doesn’t fear, but simply responds
And that’s where living begins
You may be carried far
Be brave and take the blows
Hold on for the ride of your life
Allow the highs and lows
If you can’t raise your anchor and sails
If you can’t submit to Force
You can’t gain new ground
Without trusting the course
If you have faith in God
Look to the stars for hope and relief
You’ll be amazed at the treasures you’ll find
In sailing beyond the reef.
My husband and I, coincidentally, had interviews around the same time yesterday at a local school. We were interviewing for 2 different jobs, but at the same school, around the same time. They must coordinate interviewing for the same day. Totally separate departments and interviewers. Working for the school district in this area is extremely competitive and highly coveted for some reason. Must be the benefits because they don’t pay well. LOL
It was a fun day, riding together, snagging coffee, talking, eating lunch together. After lunch, we headed over to the beach at the jetty. The jetty consists of two rock outcroppings that allow boats to enter an inlet. It’s sort of like the watery landing strip for a small marina, docks, businesses and houses on the shore. The inlet was calm. The water was much greener and lighter than normal, but the waves weren’t ripping through there.
But as soon as we got to the rocks on the south side of the jetty, this is what we saw.
It was fascinating to watch. I assume the ocean is kicking up because of Hurricane Harvey. We don’t have local news and weather, we can’t tune in any area stations on our TV. So we look at weather online and we have a weather radio.
Every time the waves broke on the rocks, our windshield was covered with salt spray. We were parked only 20 feet from the breaking waves. Some people got up on the rocks and filmed the waves coming in. The only thing separating us from the waves was a good low wall of small boulders. It was amazing and little scary.
Wouldn’t want to be in the ocean while the waves are this high, but we saw two parasurfers (parasail with a waterski handle and you ride a surfboard around, they were hauling) yesterday in these high waves. The wind and waves were ripping! OMG! Looks dangerous. I have trouble staying on my feet in low tide on a calm day. LOL I would die if I was caught in this. Instantly. Immediately. I’d be drowned or dashed on the rocks.
If I was parasurfing in this? Death grip on that handle! But I wouldn’t parasurf in this! Crazy.
My thoughts are with Texas as Hurricane Harvey hits. Hope everyone can stay safe.
Went to the beach this morning at around 8 am. Saw a bobcat!!! Beachdunegrassycat! Bobcat Beachthwait. OMG!
I’ve lived in Missouri my entire life except for the last two months and I’ve never seen a bobcat. 44 years old. And I saw one this morning on the path to the beach! Eeeeek! Freaked me out, but it was so cool. We kept our distance. My husband said he thought he saw a coyote the other morning on the way to work. We live in a densely packed neighborhood. WOW! Did not get a picture, he was too far off and I like my face where it is.
I’m a country girl, so it takes a lot to surprise me. But this morning was very cool.
Had a great time at the beach. Bobbed around in the ocean. Did not get mauled by any beach cougars and found a coupla cool shells. Got some sun, exercise and my mojo’s rising.
Have an amazing day! I know I will.
Grilled hamburgers for lunch! 😀 Yay, Saturday!
It was a sunny, blustery day on the coast yesterday. We went to the jetty and photographed the white-capped waves (rare) breaking on the rocks. The clouds were magnificent! It was an unusual, but beautiful day! Windy!!
We saw an apathetic surfer riding the waves yesterday. They were that strong. For this area, very rare.
